CLEAN SHEETS

The 34 years old goalkeeper of Everton and USA, Tim Howard has been in sensational form and this can be seen by the last 3 clean sheets kept for Everton in the Premier League but the event worth remembering was the penalty he saved when facing Aston Villa back in October.

In Everton’s match against Aston Villa, Christian Benteke was awarded with a penalty kick that was denied by Tim Howard and following the match the veteran goalkeeper said in a comedic fashion that his beard made the difference.
Tim Howard joked: ‘I think I’ve gained most of my strength from the beard.

‘Benteke is a strong boy and very powerful so I thought he might go to the right. For a right-footer, that’s his power side.

‘To be honest, I didn’t get it quite right as he went high but I got a little bit of luck, reacted and kept it out.’
He later went on making more important saves for his team as Everton triumphed 2-0 against Aston Villa but it was Tim Howard who received praised and earned the man of the match award after his impressive performance keeping a clean sheet throughout the entire 90 minutes of the encounter.
The former Manchester United goalkeeper said:

‘You are always trying to do your part as a goalkeeper and you don’t get many games like that,’ he told the club’s official website.

‘For me, I’ve been around the block a time or two so when you perform like that you try and savour it.

‘The best thing was that we got a clean sheet and the three points because it really keeps us on a good run’’.

Everton has received 10 goals so far in this season of the Premier League making them one of the teams that have conceived fewer goals and there much of this can be credited to the great form of Tim Howard.
