David Beckham’s Statue to be Unveiled by the Los Angeles Galaxy
Dignity Sports, Health Park to witness the unveiling of David Beckham statue on the first week of March by LA Galaxy. The footballer who was previously a member of LA Galaxy is expected to attend the event which is presumably the first kind of such tribute provided by Major League to Soccer to a player.
The 43-year-old English footballer played for the team from 2007 to 2012 winning consecutive MLS victories in 2011 and 2012. David Beckham was already an established footballer while he signed for LA Galaxy back in 2007 and it proved really beneficial for the team since many more high profile players started joining Major League Soccer such as Zlatan Ibrahimović, David Villa, Wayne Rooney, Thierry Henry, etc. His introduction also paved the way for a new rule which stated that the high-profile players could be signed by teams whose effect on the wage cap would be limited to a specific amount.
After LA Galaxy, “he signed for AC Milan and also Paris Saint-German but all after he conveyed a new quality to the overall game“ and persuaded many into the League. Beckham moved to LA Galaxy after playing for Manchester United and now serves as the other founder of the club Inter Miami and they shall begin their play by 2020. Despite several injuries, the worldwide icon “managed to bring important“ victories to not only LA Galaxy but also to all the teams he devoted his career too.
And hence, Beckham holds a significant place in the history and hearts of the MLS and LA Galaxy which is why this statue will be a mark of respect and inspiration. The statue will be unveiled before the season opener of the club and is expected to be placed at the fore of the club’s stadium.
