LA Galaxy’s Plans for the Year Ahead

There is much going on at MLS LA Galaxy. It is official that Javier Hernandez, known popularly as Chicharito, will continue for this organization in the year 2023. It was confirmed by the MLS club on Monday. They have renewed contracts with this top striker for the forthcoming season.


The Mexican striker has also confirmed the same. He had put forward his number, and the club has ratified the same. He stated that there was no need for negotiations since there is an automatic renewal condition in my contract. It is based on the fact that I achieve 11 goals and have spent at least 60% of the total minutes on the playing field.

 

With Chicharito confirming that he is coming back to play for LA Galaxy, it completes the roster of the club for the forthcoming year. Galaxy has released the list of its players who will stay on the game roster in the New Year. It includes the former Real Madrid and Manchester United striker. Others who would be continuing with the club include names such as goalkeeper Jonathan Bond. Others include defenders Nick Depuy, Julian Araujo, Marcus Ferkranus, Raheem Edwards, Chase Gasper, Jalen Neal, and Kelvin Leerdam; midfielders include Gaston Brugman, Efrain Alvarez, Mark Delgado, Douglas Costa, and Samuel among others. Their contracts have been guaranteed for the coming year.
Others who would continue with Galaxy in the upcoming year include forwards such as Dejan Joveljic and Kevin Cabral. The club would also look at renewing contracts with Séga Coulibaly, and Martín Cáceres. On the other hand, they would be letting go of Jorge Villafaña who played in the defender position, and Sacha Klejstan whose contract as a midfielder for the club has expired.
Overall LA Galaxy finished in the fifth position amongst MLS Western clubs. In the western conference, they had seven draws, 13 wins, and 12 losses. It gained them 46 points across 32 games. However, the club could not make it to the semi-finals of the Western Conference where they would have played opposite LAFC champions.
