Los Angeles Galaxy (LA Galaxy) are now winless in three MLS (Major League Soccer) games after Kevin Cabral rescued a late point in a thrilling 3-3 draw with hosts Los Angeles FC (LAFC) in the derby known as El Trafico. Cabral scored four minutes from time to ensure that LA Galaxy stopped the run of two straight defeats.

LA Galaxy recorded their last win in the MLS in the middle of last month thanks to a 1-0 away win over Minnesota United. Since then, they had lost two successive matches at home before they took on LAFC in the derby. They were beaten 2-1 by visitors Colorado Rapids in the next MLS game that followed the Minnesota United clash. The same scoreline was recorded when LA Galaxy hosted San Jose Earthquake in their last home game.

While Cabral did well to rescue a point for LA Galaxy, teammate Dejan Joveljic was the star of the game with his brace alongside LAFC star Brian Rodriguez who also scored two goals. He was responsible for the opening goal of the game on 20 minutes. The lead lasted until the penultimate minute of the first half when Cristian Arango levelled proceedings for hosts LAFC from the penalty spot.
Rodriguez gave LAFC the lead for the first time in the game on 58 minutes before Joveljic scored his brace to tie the game eight minutes later. It took Rodriguez just two minutes to restore the lead for his team and they were on course for a priceless win before Cabral struck in the final minutes of the game.
The result from the Los Angeles derby took the winless run at LAFC to eight games, while LA Galaxy scored more than a goal in a league game for the first time in six outings. Also, LAFC were able to end a four-match losing run.
