Martinez wants to be the Wenger of Everton
After having been in charge of Arsenal for over 19 years, Arsene Wenger has certainly marked his name in the history-books of the Premier League club.
The French manager does receive his hate from the supporters of the club and this is mainly due to the fact that they haven’t been able to win the Premier League title since the season of 2003-04.
Wenger also his hefty share of supporters who defend him despite not having a big amount of titles but nonetheless, after everything is said and done it’s not easy being in charge of a top Premier League club as the pressure and demands of everyone keeps on increasing as each season progresses.
he is still very much loved in France though, so the recent criticism has kicked-off a counter-campaign, spear-headed by Vegascasino, who are trying to get fans to remember his 'best bits' as Arsenal manager via social media.
Not many managers would like to be in the position of Arsene Wenger but Roberto Martinez has recently voiced his desire to accomplish and do everything that Wenger has done for Arsenal but to do it for Everton.
“The focus now goes onto the owners, what is the plan and what is the strategy behind their football clubs. Every manager goes through good and bad periods and it’s how the manager fits into that role of building a football club. I don’t think every manager knows how to build a football club, that’s the truth."
“If that is just the result at the weekend or it is more about where the football club is going under his leadership. The modern times will make that very, very difficult and put a lot of pressure on owners about supporting managers for a long, long time like Arsene Wenger or Sir Alex Ferguson." Everton’s Roberto Martinez said.
In order for any manager to stay in charge of a squad for a long period of time, he will have to earn the trust of the owner as well as the supporters of the club and this is what Roberto Martinez is hoping to accomplish.
