MACHEDA CALLS ON BRUM
Federico Macheda reckons that his team Birmingham City needs to answer the critics with performances on the field and not with the words.
This season has been very poor for the Blues so far and they are in danger of being relegated to league one. So, quite obviously, there is anger among the fans and the players are being criticized big time.
According to Macheda, the only way his side can stop that criticism is by putting up some good shows in the near future.
The 22-years Old Italian forward who has been playing for Birmingham on loan believes that there is enough potential in the group and the relegation can be avoided, but, there is certainly a need for the players to pull their socks up and raise their game.
Talking to the reporters yesterday, Macheda said, “It’s very tight at the moment and the result of every game is important. If we get 3 points against Doncaster, we will be in a good position again. It’s all about a couple of victories.”
“You want to safeguard yourself as early as possible. You don’t want to take this battle right down to the wire because in the last few matches, anything can happen.”
“As far as I am concerned, I believe this team is too talented to be relegated, but, again, it’s on the ground that the talent needs to be shown.”
Birmingham City is at the 20th position in the Championship points table with 40 points in 39 games. They are just a couple of positions above the relegation zone.
In their next match, the Blues will be facing Doncaster Rovers who are at no. 18 in the table with 43 points. That match will take place at the Keepmoat Stadium.
