COVENTRY RECOVER
Coventry City recovered from the loss against Doncaster Rovers in the previous weekend to register a 1-0 win over Peterborough United, but it was not a memorable match for the fans.
Both teams did not play good football and Coventry were lucky to come out of this match with three points. Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray revealed that this was one of those games in which both teams did not deserve to win due to the bad football that they played.
Yet, he is happy to have taken the points that move Coventry out of the relegation trouble for the time being - they are now 1/2 to stay up for those tempted to have a football bets (Link for online betting for UK customers). The club now has 46 points from the 41 games so far.
This game was always going to be difficult for the home team considering that it was against a Peterborough United side that had won five times in the last six games.
Mowbray will be focusing on getting his team to another three points when they take on Leyton Orient in the next league match. The home form of the team continues to be a major doubt with just one win in the last few months, with very few fans backing the Sky Blues in the live betting (Link for online betting for non-UK customers) simply because they are so unpredictable! The 2-1 success over Milton Keynes Dons is the only time Coventry City has taken three points at home since November 2014.
"I've stood at many press conferences saying that the best team has not won but on Saturday I feel that both teams were as bad as each other. It wasn't a spectacle but we are in a position where we need to win games and find a way and on Saturday we did that. I went back to basics with the defence and told them to keep it one touch and clear any danger straight away and wait for the chance. We have dug out a result. There will be better days in the future,” said Mowbray.
