37 year old Tim Howard continues breaking records
Tim Howard is 37 years old and he is still making appearances not only for his current club, Colorado Rapids but also for the United States national football team.
The veteran shot-stopper was recently featured in the USA national side that faced off with Trinidad and Tobago in their final 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying match which saw the American team claiming a 4-0 triumph.
This 4-0 victory over Trinidad and Tobago was enough for United States to finish at the top of group C with a total of 13 points which was more than any other national team of that group.
It was during this game that Tim Howard reached a new milestone as his appearance in the match against Trinidad and Tobago was Howard’s 32nd World Cup qualifying cap which is more than any other shot-stopper in the history of the American national side.
Trinidad and Tobago claimed the 2nd qualification spot while Guatemala and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines were eliminated.
The veteran shot-stopper Tim Howard was left out of the Copa America Centenario which took place from June 3 until June 26 of the ongoing year. Howard was dropped while Brad Guzan had center stage.
Howard’s recent appearance for the USA national side is good for the experienced player as he still wants to continue making performances for his country and it seems like Howard indeed still has a role to play in the team of Jurgen Klinsmann.
Now that the men’s USA national football team has made it into the 5th round of the 2018 FIFA World Cup CONCACAF qualification, this gives Tim Howard the possibility to continue making more appearances at the international stage which is impressive for a player who is 37 years old but he does indeed want to continue being on the pitch despite his elevated age.
