LA GALAXY SIGNS NEW DEFENDER
MLS giants LA Galaxy have moved to shore up their defence with the signing of Sega Coulibaly. The player was signed from AS Nancy in the French second division, Ligue 2.
LA Galaxy paid an undisclosed fee to secure the transfer of Coulibaly from Nancy. The MLS club opted not to wait until his contract at Nancy expires this summer. He has started the majority of the league games for Nancy this season.

LA Galaxy have moved to shore up a defence that has conceded goals for fun in the MLS over the course of last season and this season. LA Galaxy had one of the worst defensive records in the MLS last season. They had the second worst record with 46 goals.
The Los Angeles-based team has not improved defensively this season with seven goals in the three games played. LA Galaxy conceded two goals in each of their first two games in the new MLS season but still managed to win thanks to the brilliance of Mexican international Javier Hernandez.
LA Galaxy came from behind to beat home team Inter Miami 3-2 in their MLS opener this season before they recorded the same scoreline in the home win over New York Red Bulls to make it two wins from two games. Hernandez scored all the three goals against New York Red Bulls to take his tally to five goals in two league games.
Hernandez and LA Galaxy then suffered their first defeat of the season last weekend. They were beaten comprehensively by last season's MLS Cup finalists Seattle Sounders. Peru international Raul Ruidiaz (2) and Australian international Brad Smith scored to give Seattle Sounders a 3-0 win over LA Galaxy.
LA Galaxy have now conceded seven goals in just three games in the new MLS season.
