ONTARIO INDOOR CUP

Three Mississauga soccer teams won Ontario Indoor Cup titles recently in Vaughan.

The Erin Mills Eagles under-14 girls have so much depth, they were able to field two teams — and they met in the final.

When the dust settled, Erin Mills white defeated Erin Mills green 3-2 on penalty kicks. Julia Stampatori scored the game-winning goal.

The Mississauga Falcons boys' under-16 B team lost its opening game 4-1 to the Mount Hamilton Avalanche, but rebounded to defeat the same squad 2-0 in the championship game. Both goals were scored by captain Alex Mitrovic.

The Dixie Athletics under-14 boys won their championship with a 1-0 victory over the North York Armour Heights Knights. Noah Dino netted the game-winner.

In the all-Eagles tilt, the teams were tied 1-1 after regulation time.

Afterwards, team manager Janet Cristello gave kudos to both sides. "They're such a good group of girls who always give 100 per cent," Cristello said. "Everyone is very strong in their position and they're very team-oriented."
