SPORTING KANSAS RE-SIGNS GOALKEEPER PULSKAMP

MLS outfit Sporting Kansas City has re-signed young goalkeeper John Pulskamp. The transfer was announced by the club on Thursday. The LA Galaxy Academy graduate penned a three-year deal at Sporting Kansas City through to the 2025 MLS season with the option of the 2026 MLS season.


21-year-old Pulskamp has made a total of 37 appearances for Sporting Kansas City and Sporting Kansas City II since joining the club from the LA Galaxy Academy three years. Pulskamp left the LA Galaxy Academy to sign for Sporting Kansas City in April 2019.

Pulskamp enjoyed a breakthrough at Sporting Kansas City during the 2021 MLS season as he started six games for the team. He was also called up to the United States senior national team for a two-week training camp in Carson, California in December 2021.
LA Galaxy Academy graduate Pulskamp is widely regarded as one of the best young goalkeepers on the American soccer scene. On his MLS debut in April 2021, Pulskampbecame the third youngest goalkeeper to win a regular season match in the history of the league during the 2-1 win at New York Red Bulls. Pulskamp ended the 2021 MLS season with a record of three wins, two draws and one defeat from six starts. His other victories came during the 2-0 win at home to LA Galaxy on October 27, 2021 and the 2-1 win over Austin FC on May 9, 2021.
Bakersfield, California native Pulskampjoined the United States senior national team towards the end of last year and he was an unused substitute during the 1-0 friendly win over Bosnia and Herzegovina on December 18. He had earlier featured for the United States u-20 team against regional rivals Mexico in an international friendly encounter played on January 18, 2020. The goalkeeper was also with the United States u-18 team a few years ago.
