Tottenham open to other Sports
In June 2015, Tottenham announced that they were given the rights and permission to add a movable pitch to the new White Hart Lane stadium site proposal, which is expected to give the club the option of hosting events besides football, and is seen by many as a game-changer in the world of sports stadia.
One of the rumours that keeps on emerging is the possibility of Tottenham Hotspur hosting NFL matches on the pitch below the movable pitch but no official confirmation has been made concerning this.
The new White Hart Lane stadium is planned to have around 61,000 seats for supporters of the club to enjoy home matches and other events in, as well as new TV and gaming facilities that will make it possible to see and bet on the live odds from StanJames in the match, from their seats!
The new stadium is expected to be a huge process that will cost the club around of €400 million. Its the finances involved that have forced the club to look at turning it into a multi-purpose venue where they will be able to also have music concerts and other sporting events.
Mauricio Pochettino voiced his excitement in this ongoing project as the Argentine coach said: "The new stadium designs and facilities look incredible this really demonstrates the ambition of this football club. We have always enjoyed strong backing from our fans at home and it is great that the stadium atmosphere is central to the new designs too. Everybody should be excited about what the club is looking to achieve, this stadium will be one of the best around."
Everything is looking bright for Tottenham Hotspur and their new stadium although many complications are starting to emerge - firstly the club has to start considering and one of these complications is where to go when the actual building phases have initiated.
Wembley is one of the sites that is being taken into consideration but this location might be harder to secure than fans believe, considering all of the scheduled fixtures and events that will be taking place in Wembley as well as the fact that Chelsea has also announced plans of improving their own stadium and are also viewing Wembley as a possible option for a temporary home.
Stadium MK is another one of the candidates but the problem with this optiion is that the distance from London might just be too much for fans to deal with - it's over 50 miles away from White Hart Lane and fans will have to spend more money and time travelling if they decide to head on over there.
