Zlatan Ibrahimovic urges Manchester United to build team with these two players
Manchester United favourite Zlatan Ibrahimovic has urged to rebuild the squad with Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford being the centre of attention. The duo have transformed their fortunes under the guidance of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this year and Zlatan has heaped praise on the pairing for their recent performances.
In a report covered by The Mirror, Zlatan talked about the potential of Pogba and said that he can become of the best players in the world. The veteran striker continued to speak on the progress of Rashford and suggested that the Englishman will be the future of the club with his teamwork improving game by game.
He said: “I think Paul Pogba has the potential to be the best player in the world in his position. He is a good guy, he trains hard, he listens, he wants to become better, he wants to win. He wants to perform in every game. Things happening outside do not really bother him because when you are at that level, everyone will speak.
Positive, negative, in between, everybody. Rashford is the future of Manchester United. In the beginning, I saw him more as an individual - now he is playing more for the collective.”
“Both Pogba and Rashford have no doubt found a new lease of life under Ole but they have still gone through the occasional period where they have struggled to make the difference. Nonetheless, their performances have contributed towards the revival during the “backend of the period and United are currently in a position whereby they can make the top four.
Elsewhere, the hierarchy have already begun contract discussions with both Pogba and Rashford but they have yet to find the breakthrough with either player. Pogba has more than two years remaining on his existing deal with the club. On the contrary, Rashford has just 15 months left on his United contract.
